Shared Reading

An immersive adventure in listening to stories and poems

More information

Shared Reading is an immersive adventure, a space where people from all walks of life gather in small groups to listen to a story or a poem. We read slowly to allow space for our responses to emerge and to share, discovering the narratives within all of us. Shared Reading has been shown to help with depression and anxiety. Some call it "bibliotherapy". We are looking for participants to take part in 10 weeks of Shared Reading as part of our research project on fostering wellbeing during the pandemic. The sessions will be run by Dr Melinda Turner, a trained Shared Reading facilitator and Sessional Academic. Human Ethics approval no. HEC22061 La Trobe University This project was supported by Manningham City Council’s Community Grants Program For more information or to register please contact Dr Melinda Turner melinda.turner@latrobe.edu.au
